Your wedding day is your dream come
true. This is a special day that you have visualized in your mind and
looked forward to with great anticipation. Now this special
celebration is here. You have found your perfect mate and you are
looking forward to creating a forever relationship and family.
Do you believe that your nuptials are the most important part of your
wedding ceremony? Would you like to capture the essence of your love
for each other and commitment to a future together? After the
ceremony, would you like your friends and family to praise the words
that inaugurated your life together?
Your ceremony should celebrate your journey towards love, your reasons
for choosing each other and your vision for the future. It is your way
to formally, yet personally, commemorate the uniqueness of your
relationship.
As your wedding officiant, Reverend Bonnie will guide you in creating
a warm and loving ceremony. You may already have something in mind or
you may want to choose from the varied selection of ceremonies, poems,
reading and vows that she will send you. You may choose to have a
traditional religious ceremony, a more contemporary spiritual ceremony
or a civil secular ceremony. You may include children or pets or honor
through a special memoriam a family member that is no longer with you.
As you will write the ceremony together, you will know exactly what to
expect and there will be no surprises. You will be able to relax and
enjoy yourself on your special day.
QUESTIONS TO ASK IN THE
SELECTION OF YOUR WEDDING OFFICIANT
-
Will the officiant be able to
convey the essence of the bond you share?
-
Will the officiant respect your
beliefs and lifestyle?
-
Will you feel comfortable stating
your preferences – even those that seem silly or insignificant?
-
Will this person be flexible,
caring and understanding?
-
Is your officiant dependable,
professional, organized and on time?
-
Is the officiant easy to work with
and open to your ideas?
Bonnie has been celebrating weddings in the New Bern, Crystal Coast
and surrounding areas for over five years. During that time she has
performed many hundreds of ceremonies in the bridal couple’s location
of choice. Whether you have a chapel, or want a beach wedding or a
ceremony in your back yard, Bonnie will be happy to join you in
performing your unique ceremony.
Reverend Bonnie Lee Compton was ordained in 1990 after completing a
five-year spiritual program with the Baltimore Spiritual Science
Center in Baltimore, Maryland. After leaving a successful corporate
career, she moved to a small spiritual community in the Sangre de
Christo mountains in Colorado where she was able to lead a
contemplative life. She was able to explore first-hand various world
religions from Christianity to Buddhism to American Indian Shamanism.
She has traveled throughout the world visiting ancient spiritual
centers and ashrams. She continues her studies of ancient
civilizations and world religions and brings this information to her
work.
Bonnie lives in New Bern with her dogs and cats. She is President of
Pals for Paws, a local spay/neuter group. She is also the Adoption
Facilitator for the New Leash on Life program which couples shelter
dogs with prison inmates for an 8 week training program. Bonnie
finds new homes for these dogs at their graduation. As an animal
lover, she enjoys having dogs participate in the weddings.
Bonnie will travel to Kinston, Jacksonville, Greenville, Oriental, the
Crystal Coast and surrounding areas to officiate your wedding. She is
very active in performing weddings at Camp Lejeune and Cherry Point.
You may meet in person, by telephone or do everything by email.
